| From the backyard of a Shady Canyon home overlooking the houses of Mark McGwire and Congressman John Campbell, Irvine Council Member, Irvine Council Member Beth Krom launched her Congressional Campaign for 2010.
In a well-attended, well-organized event with over 300 RSVP', Beth Krom kicked off her campaign for California's 48th Congressional District. An introduction by Steve Young was followed by an enthusiastic endorsement from Congresswoman Loretta Sanchez. Both emphasized Krom's leadership in Irvine, fighting the ill-fated airport plan, working to develop the Great Park Plan, creating jobs and housing, and making Irvine the safest large city in America.
When former Mayor Krom spoke, she emphasized the profound lack of interest that Campbell had demonstrated in his district. Because Campbell refuses to work on local earmarks, projects like dredging Newport's Back Bay have been carried by Congresswoman Lorettta Sanchez and Ed Royce. Remarkably, in the four years that Krom was Mayor of Irvine, the largest city in the district, she had never received a letter or phone call, or seen Campbell at a single event in Irvine.
Krom is a seasoned campaigner and proven vote-getter, running a campaign to win in an extremely diverse district which President Obama carried by over 2600 votes, |
