I had so many questions before last weekend. And honestly, I still don't know exactly what lies ahead. However, I had many of my questions answered as I saw a glimpse of hope rising after the storm.

Meet in the Middle 4 Equality: Day 2 in Fresno

Yesterday was quite the special day. We started off the morning walking from Selma to Fresno. Yes, that's right. Hundreds of queer folks and straight (but not narrow!) folks who care about civil rights marched up Golden State Highway to demonstrate how much we want full equality for all.

We sweated together. We walked together. We jogged and ran together when necessary. But together, we all sent a powerful statement on today's civil rights struggles.

Scenes from Meet in the Middle Day 1

Has this been quite the experience so far, or what? I arrived in Fresno for Meet in the Middle 4 Equality, and I'm already being blown away! Local LGBT civil rights activists, like Meet in the Middle Organizer Robin McGehee and Jay Matthew from Erase the H8, have clearly put together a stellar operation for this weekend. And with support from other state groups like Courage Campaign (Rick Jacobs himself is here!) and OCEC, it looks like the town's already filling up for this one-of-a-kind event.

Even John Burton Sez: Come to Fresno This Weekend!

I was heartened to see this from California Democratic Party Chairman John Burton. Please read what he says... And join us all in Fresno tomorrow as we meet in the middle to win our equality for good!

Dear friends,

In the wake of this week's California Supreme Court decision, the historic struggle for marriage equality continues.

On Saturday, gay and straight supporters of marriage equality such as yourselves will come together in Fresno for the Meet in the Middle 4 Equality march and rally.

I'm sorry I cannot be at Meet in the Middle myself. I send my best wishes for a successful event and I ask you to be a part of making it a success. Please attend if you're able.
